Electric car EV Mini QED with PML Wheel Motors

Only about 15% of the energy from the fuel you put in your tank gets used to move your car down the road or run useful accessories, such as air conditioning. The rest of the energy is lost to engine and driveline inefficiencies and idling. Therefore, the potential to improve fuel efficiency with advanced technologies is enormous. With an Electric Car it costs just $2.00 per 100kms with MUCH more performance than with petrol at $20.00 per 100kms.

Electric car EV Mini QED with PML In-Wheel Motors. Car does not run as yet after 5 years of R&D. Same MOCK motor as used in Volvo ReCharge concept.

Less then .00002 % In CA less than .000015%

Now that the world has universally accepted climate change is a serious problem and people are motivated now to buy plugin hybrids and alternative fuel cars, I have nothing to protest for anymore.

I have nothing to argue with people about and no conspiracy theories that the truth is being hidden anymore.

What do I do now?

Research permaculture and peak oil. It will give you plenty to get steamed up about, and permaculture gardening will give you plenty to do.

I'm not entirely facetious about this, it's fun raising your own food in a limited space.

when I was a kid in the fifties there were electric milk cars /floats delivering lots of crates of milk, to the houses in the city.up the hills and down.they were powered with ordinary car batteries.they had a lot of weight on them, but they had no problem going.quiet and no pollution.where are they today?electric cars are the future, and I do not see why our government can't invest in this technology and set up factories to produce and sell to the world before some other western country does.Just because we might be at the forefront of some other leading technologies does'nt mean we have to stop there, does it?

With the President being an 'oil man', you can pretty much hang up the prospects of him pouring any money into electric car technology. If he were interested, he would have at least asked Congress to allocate funds in the last 6.5 years. Maybe the next President has the ability to see farther than 6 months into the future and invest for our future. If nothing else, our future cleaner air and less dependance on foreign oil.

I know what you are saying about electric vehicles yester-century. There were electric vehicles around when the combustion engine came along. Thanks to the oil companies, they died…..probably a painful death. The resurrection is a slow and agonizing process, but it IS happening!!

http://www.ForkenSwift.com – Here’s the Forkenswift’s motor being spun up (and down, and up, and down) with a used golf cart controller. (Thanks to the EVDL folks for help with connecting the oddball Curtis.)

Apologies for the poor vid quality – this was shot with a 20 year-old camera.

Titles are hard to read in some places, so here they are:

1. Another Forkenswift milestone…
2. First CONTROLLED electric power-up
3. No more welded jumper cables, like last time…
4. This time we’re hooked up to a DC motor controller
5. From a 48 volt golf cart :-)
6. We’ve got more juice this time, too
7. 36 volts — three 12v batteries
8. And, last but not least,a potentiometer …
9. (What is it about motors that makes people want to rev them?)
10. Here’s the actual potentiometer we’ll connect to the car’s “gas” pedal.
11. Out of the old Baker forklift.
12. We also have the forklift’s motor controller.
13. But we’re going to try the golf cart controller first.
14. Tee-off time is approaching …

Project ForkenSwift is an electric car conversion made using parts from a Suzuki Swift, Geo Metro, Baker electric forklift and a golf cart.
