The “FUN EV” electric vehicle from ECOS Motors with the MiMod™ EV monitoring and control system was demonstrated to the public May 15 at the Creation Care Earth Fair in Prairie Village, Kan. (near Kansas City).

An all around fun vehicle in concept and design, the FUN EV delivers over 60 miles per charge and 80 mph top speed. In addition to the MiMod Monitoring and Control system, it also features an aluminum chassis, Kevlar-reinforced composite body, 15 KW lithium ion battery pack and 4-wheel disc brakes.

With a price starting at under $20,000 and an operating cost of only $0.02/per mile, it’s exceptionally affordable.

As used in the new “FUN EV,” the MiMod™ EV monitoring and control system solves a basic problem inherent with most electric vehicles – the inability to continually monitor voltage and state of charge of all batteries powering the vehicle, either individually or in aggregate.

With MiMod, the driver of the EV has real-time access to battery performance parameters through a large, dash-mounted driver interface featuring enhanced graphics. Vehicle and battery performance history can be uploaded to another computer for remote viewing and analysis.

In addition, MiMod’s customizable logic allows for the graphical display and operator touch screen control of vehicle add-ons such as GPS, MP3, other entertainment systems, wireless broadband, vehicle switches, other sensors, back-up camera and much more.

The easily installed MiMod system can be adapted to fit any electric vehicle.

Hybrid vehicles were the stuff of dreams centuries ago.
Nobody ever thought that creating a vehicle independent from fuel was possible.
Fortunately with the continuing development of hybrid technology, more efficient and practical vehicles have been created.
In the recent years the campaign for global warming has brought the attention of the public.
Hybrid cars are now becoming steadily popular available in different types from compact sedans to SUVs.
Environmental issues are not the only reason that has made the public favor hybrid cars.
Rising gas prices is also one of the major reasons why people prefer hybrid cars than conventional ones.
Its also practical in suburban environments where you don’t really need horsepower but gas mileage.
Hybrid vehicles
There are different types of hybrid vehicles. They can vary from the simplest wheelbarrows to ships.
No matter what form they are, these vehicles help in reducing greenhouse and noise emissions.
Although these vehicles are expensive due to their unique structures, developments will continue to provide more alternatives to the public.
These cars may not compare to conventional ones with a 200 horsepower but why would you need that if you only need 20 in the streets?

EV-Charge America is displaying the Smartlet EV Charging Stations for use with 100% renewable energy applications powered by the sun. These installations will significantly reduce dependence on foreign oil and eliminate the generation of harmful green house gases. Huge solar tracking arrays like the one in this video in Las Vegas can provide sufficient power to charge hundreds of electric vehicles and still have large amounts of energy left over to sell back to the electric utility to reduce overall electricity costs and usage.
