    For one, who would …
For one, who would want to build a house on top of a oil rig? So that is a straw-man argument. Second before the deal overseas was made and the investors sunk their teeth into our pocketbooks we made oil and coal just fine. Third, America needs jobs and has plenty of land available to give way to oil production. Forth, the reason why this won’t happen is because too many Americans like you are dooped into buying everything overseas. America is owned by foreigners and world banks.

    Drilling for oil is …
Drilling for oil is so environmentally destructive that you can’t build a house on top of an old oil rig. you have to ship the oil from the middle east to north america to be processed and then shipped again to gas stations. then all of the major cities of the world have bad air pollution causing acid raids killing our forrests

so do all of the …
so do all of the prius hybrids come with that digital readout screen thing? and could you find one for around $7,000?

    Do you live in …
Do you live in Sudbury, my future wife’s parents do, and you are wrong about that. Sudbury is beautiful. In fact any damage occurred more than thirty years ago, long before the Prius was even made. Since then, Inco (the company who makes the batteries) has reduced sulphur dioxide emissions by more than 90 per cent and has helped to plant more than 11 million trees. It is one of the greenest plants in Ontario. Get your figures straight before you buy into what the oil co. push out in media.

    Mining of nickel …
Mining of nickel can be environmentally destructive. Toyota buys nickel for Prius batteries from a mine in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. The mine has created such a dead zone around it, that NASA now uses the area to test lunar rovers.

The acid rain around Sudbury has destroyed all the plants and the soil slid off the hillside, David Martin, a Canadian Greenpeace coordinator, told the British newspaper Mail.

    also hybrids killing our forrests

    You’re a fool. US …
You’re a fool. US Auto Industry had first real hybrids, first fully battery powered cars which drove (500 Chevy’s were on the road for more then a year) and they have the goods in their safe for now. I am willing to bet US will take Toyota and Honda on, and smoke them in the next few years on Hybrids. In US cars are purpose-built, unlike the worthless Prius which is USELESS for anything but driving to your FOO-FOO office job, and back.

GOOGLE: Hidden cost of driving a Prius

    PRIUS SUCKS

    1) Google: Prius …
    1) Google: Prius Outdoes Hummer in Environmental Damage (1st article on top)

    2) Google: HIDDEN COST OF DRIVING A PRIUS

PRIUS SUCKS because it handles LIKE A PREGNANT YAK, and brakes like a Semi flying downhill, and has no uphill passing capability, and cannot maintain any decent speed uphill, and cannot carry any real heavy cargo or five GROWN adults in comfort!
What it has is: cheap plastic interior and a loud & rough ride. Engine is WEAK and accelerates like a grandpa on his oxygen tank!

    priuses are nuthing …
priuses are nuthing but filth and a abomination to the motoring world it pollutes more than my m3 4.0 v8.
building a prius harms the planet more than me driving my beemer from cali to new jersey. plus my beemer gets better gas milage in the curvy mountains…

  14. bearnurse1 Says:

    This is the hybrid …
This is the hybrid I’ve seen so far that interests me at all. All the others are plug hybrids which are not practical for people who don’t have a garage to put the car in while you charge it overnight. The Prius has a built in battery recharging mechanism.

The point is the early days of new tech. Just like the first liners could not be trans atlantic no matter how big they were untill later developments like triple expansion engines. It will get better.
